I've always wondered what it would be like to work with a real, professional developer. You know the type: cleans up other peoples' code, adds well-written documentation, takes on large swathes of work with little direction, and knows the libraries and language so well you believe he may have had a hand in writing them...
Nick is a mentor. I've learned so much from him the last few months—lessons and sayings I'll take with me for the rest of my career. I knew that if I tossed a complex problem over the fence to him, it would be immediately less complex than I originally thought and cleaned up with the appropriate type safety.
Nick is a grinder. He single-handedly championed alleviating time-consuming bugs that were plaguing our development cycle. He also spent a sprint prepping our application to be ported to a new build system. This was no small task and I can't imagine I would have trusted anyone else with it.

Nick is such an all-around valuable team member and highly knowledgeable. He works well with everyone, from the team to our stakeholders, in all kinds of situations. He has a knack for thoroughly explaining and talking through challenges, complex concepts, and practical solutions.
As a designer, it has been great to work with Nick. He has incredible attention to detail and likes to build things in a sound and scalable way. I always felt confident in his ability to translate my designs into code, and he usually went above and beyond by sweating the details so that everything worked smoothly and looked great. He came up with several subtle animations that pushed the feel of the app to the next level. I’ve learned a lot from Nick and appreciate his willingness to help me and others on the team. He even started a daily office hours session in case anyone from the team wanted to meet with him for any reason.
I've been in many stakeholder meetings with Nick, and all this extends to the relationship with them as well. He communicates effectively with the client team, demonstrates value, and doesn't hesitate to discuss challenges. I've had a great experience working with Nick and hope to work with him again.
